No people means no machines
|
Bobst machines are complex and are developed within a specific market, which imposes certain constraints. In the past, delivery times were relatively long and the number of models was limited. Today, delivery times are getting shorter all the time, and you have to respond to the specific needs of each client, which are constantly changing. The production cycles have therefore been shortened and quality is constantly being improved. Costs, and therefore prices, have benefited from this restructuring.

|
The demands with regard to quality are constantly increasing, and costs must be lowered in order to compete with companies who are gaining ground through the use of cheaper labor. The Bobst staff has to offset the high cost of living in Switzerland with dedication, professional awareness and the desire to be better than the rest, by using each minute to the full to increase productivity at all levels.

A company such as Bobst must demonstrate a great deal of flexibility and have a smooth and efficient administration, based on frequent studies of the market. It produces in advance, in small lots, a large range of products in order to always be able to meet demand within the time frame required by the market. New technologies available, both in the area of machine tools and in the organization of labor, have been introduced in every stage of the production.
This continuing modernization is beneficial both for the manufacture of finished products and for the supply of replacement parts, for machines which are sometimes as much as 50 years old - that's the mark of true service!

Bobst is able to guarantee quality, by ensuring that each of the 1400 employees in its production sector is aware of what is expected of him each day. At Bobst, you don't work for the boss! This organization is empowering for its employees, who are not treated as just "cogs in the machine", but see the full extension of their capabilities. The "annualization" of working hours and occasional Saturday work have also allowed Bobst to adapt to demand and to keep its competitive edge. It is just as important to emphasize the ever-increasing versatility of its employees, whose knowledge is vaster and more global than in the past.
No people means no machines, and therefore no clients! The opposite however is not true. |
